DEEP SEA FISHING
Editor's Note

In Luke 5 we find that Jesus asked Peter to "launch out into the deep" because there he would find a bounty of fish.  We at CTNY have been going into the deepness of His presence in preparation for a bountiful harvest of souls.  In this newsletter, you will find evidence of this "launching out".  We encourage you to leave the shallow waters and delve into the deep with us.  Don't scan the headlines of this newsletter or browse the pictures, but read deeply and in between the lines.  Let yourself be swept away by the tide of the Spirit that has caught CTNY so that as you read, you too can be inspired to go into the deep.  Only there you will find a year with no limits.
A Year Of No Limits

CT Banner

We have come to realize that our greatest limitation will be ourselves. Nothing in this world, no devil, no person, no obstacle, no situation can stop the success of a person focused on a desired goal. It has been said to me, "Focus! The ability to block out the unnecessary puts your goals within reach." Most people quit prematurely. They live their lives with major limitations because they believe that where they are is as far as they will ever go.

It has been proven in many ways. They say that if you cover a jar of fleas with a lid, the fleas will jump up trying to escape but they will hit the lid. You will hear them hitting the lid as they bounce up. After about one day they will stop bouncing. Then you can pull the lid off and the fleas will not try to jump out because they saw that they hit their limitation. In the same manner, you can place predator fish, such as pike, in a tank with other fish.  If you slide a wall of glass into the fish tank, the predator will prey on the fish but hit its nose on the glass wall.  After hitting its nose on the glass wall many times, it will finally stop trying.  You can then remove the glass wall and the predator will no longer prey on the other fish.

I have a word for you. I believe the perimeter of your ability to minister is being expanded right now! Your church and your ministry are going to have liberty. It takes a lot of effort and a lot of work to lead a church. You rise against those perimeters and you push for revival.   You try.  You advertise.  You expect great things.  Yet sometimes you just come against resistance. It gets very discouraging.  After a while you give up and start to move only in the perimeter in which God has given you freedom. But I am telling you that this day, the perimeter in your city has been moved. It is time to go after it again! It is time reach out again because this time something is going to happen. This time there will be no limit.

Many churches have become accustomed to flesh and blood methods. They try to influence the church and their cities through programs and political moves. The back of the prince of your city will only be broken through spiritual weapons. God is directing leaders to walk the streets of their cities and proclaim those territories for the Kingdom of Jesus in 2008 through the prayer of faith. It will be a year of "No Limits." In Jonah 3, one man who had a burden for a wicked city turned the entire city to God by walking the length and breadth of the city.  For three days, he prayed and prophesied. As the scripture says, "I give you power to tread upon serpents." The word "tread" means to leave your footprint in the enemy's territory. A special anointing is falling on your church says the Holy Ghost. Every place you walk and pray in your city, God is going to give you authority over it. The church is going to leave its mark of anointing. God is going to draw people you didn't even talk to. People are just going to feel drawn into your church because there is a shifting in the spirit realm. There is a breakthrough taking place. There is "No Limit."

A Successful Team Beats With One Heart

About four years ago, when it was just my husband and I here in Long Island, we'd gather around the dinning table in our apartment and have our staff meetings, while our one-year old daughter took her afternoon naps.  Pastor Jason would share with me his vision and passion for New York as I took minutes on our computer.  During that time, it might have been difficult to see the broad picture of what God was doing, but as we began to sow seeds into these fertile grounds, God sent us laborers to work alongside us.  Our team began to grow.  We didn't continue to do all the work alone, but formed a team and developed a "shared leadership".  In this form of leadership, it isn't only a single individual leading, but other individuals who are partners or group members that take on the responsibility of leadership.leadership santos

On Saturday, November 24th, sixteen leaders, including the Executive Core, Servant Leaders, and Volunteer Staff, united together to develop and communicate the vision for 2008, "The Year With No Limits." Pastor Aguilar began to empower us to step out in our strong areas of ministry.  As I sat in that prayer and planning session, an excitement began to burn within me.  I began to see that God has so much more for these cities.  A greater harvest is going to take place here in New York like never before.  As a team we can reach our goals.  It is easy to get stuck in tradition and comfort, but if we want to see great things happen, we need to think bigger.  Pastor Aguilar said, "The key to success is our mind-set.  We need to change our mentality.  We have to start thinking positive and stop speaking negative."  This Christian Tabernacle Team, that God has selected, wants to get their hands involved in the planting.  I thank God that I am apart of this work.  There is no other place that I would rather be, in this point of my life, than where I am today.

In Search of Our Destiny

Harvest BaptismsThroughout the course of history, there have been men and women that have followed a certain common purpose so passionately that it has taken them to impressive places.  They have been men and women of Destiny.

The direction that God is giving Christian Tabernacle fills us with emotion as God directs us to discover our anticipated destiny with greater intensity.  We believe that God has been putting each piece in place for a new fire in this corner on earth.  In other words, God is doing something so great here in New York that it is impossible to describe it with words.  You must experience it personally.

We have seen the hand of God through prophecies and manifestations of His power in a very short time.  Although many perhaps cannot see the transforming power of Pentecost, we can see it through the ministries that Jesus Christ himself established here in New York.

The Lord is returning us to the place He chose.  He is going to revive that which was apparently dead and direct His people not only to a new spiritual dimension but to a Pentecostal revival.

Let us remember that "He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-12 emphasis is mine)  Without these five ministries, the Apostolic church cannot have influence over this world in need of and hungry for God.  The reality is that the world is thirsty for God and we have the water to quench their thirst.

God designed a perfect plan through which we can influence the world instead of being influenced by it. This is the place that God wants to take us to.

God began to mobilize CTNY members towards our mission during our Harvest crusade.  Many of the brethren are first generation Christians with little experience witnessing in the streets.  This is the beautiful thing, that even without a lot of experience or Biblical knowledge, they went out (in small groups) mobilized by the Holy Spirit.  During many days and nights, they walked the streets of Freeport, Central Islip, Roosevelt, and Medford sharing the gospel with many people.  The Lord showed us that He will move if we obey His voice.  After one of our powerful services, a group of young people went to the Pastor's home without knowing us.  The Youth Pastor, Eliud Gaxiola, answered and they asked where they could find Christian Tabernacle.  Pastor Gaxiola explained that the service had ended.  One of them asked, "Do you baptize in the name of Jesus?"  Bro. Gaxiola answered, "Yes!"  One of the young men then stated that he wanted to get baptized in the name of Jesus.  During our Harvest crusade he and eight other people including his mother were baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins.

God again moved powerfully during the second and third of December when Prophet John Arcovio visited us during our prophetic conference "Accelerate".  The prophet arrived in Long Island stirring the principalities that had been established in the bedrock of this city for many centuries.  Three years ago Prophet Arcovio had prophesied to our Pastor about the blessing of a building in New York.  Three years later, that prophecy was fulfilled just as the man of God stated.  The first night, the prophet suffered spiritual attacks that took his sleep.  He prophesied tremendously over Christian Tabernacle granting us the authority to cast down every principality in this place.  The prophet shared word of God about the growth and harvest that we are about to experience.

Without doubt, we know that the Lord is moving us to a new spiritual dimension.  He is breaking the limitations of tradition that once bound us.  He is pouring out His new wine over this nation.  We must again ask ourselves in spirit and in truth:  Why?  Why do I do the things that I do?  How does the kingdom of God grow?  God wants us to return to the Book of Acts, to "the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."  (Acts 2:42 emphasis mine)  If we don't glorify God, then what is our purpose?

A Closer Look: Interview With Bro. Baltazar Franco

BaltaA revival is stirring up the hearts of many CTNY members leading them to the front lines as small group leaders.  These leaders are rising up and bring about miracles and Holy Ghost movement.  Read on so you too can be inspired to rise and do great things for God.

Do you believe that Home Friendship Groups are successful?  Totally.  We have gone back to the times of the Book of Acts.  Small groups help us communicate better and understand each other more.

Do you feel that you had enough training before starting your own group?  Yes.  I was able to establish a strong relationship with my mentor.  He taught me how to be a leader with vision.

What about being a small group leader has impacted you the most? Above all, the trust that has been placed in me because it is a great responsibility.  Also, that I have the opportunity to share the knowledge I have with others.  I can help them understand the word of God in a more intimate way.

What activities that you have tried outside of your small group have worked and you would suggest to other small group leaders?  We have evangelized our area together.  We have also enjoyed our fellowship or social time as we call it.  Recently we have also begun a prayer chain.  I know this will unite us more as a group and as friends.

What are your plans for next year?  Multiply and develop more leaders.

What was the greatest success your group had this year? Growth.  We grew from 4 to 13.  We also had 2 baptisms recently.

By when would you like to divide into two groups? We are almost there.  We plan to be two groups by this summer.  We will get there with prayer and fasting.

Is there anything else that you would like to add?  I believe that small groups work because you can form more relationships.  I can see that there is a passion to see growth within the group.  There is also fellowship.  A special unity has evolved in us.  The most important thing to remember is that your group must seek more of God.

CTNY Youth Group

The passion is stronger, the vision is deeper, and there are no limits! The need for change in the life of many young people across New York is greater than ever. The youth of today are seeking for something and have not been able to find it. They need Jesus. God has shifted things in the spirit and The Encounter Youth Group has been positioned to accelerate into a new dimension.  We are desperate to see an explosion of revival happen in New York. More than ever before the youth of The Encounter are hungry for God and exuberantly passionate to see young people come to Christ. We are now in process of building a youth facility that with arms wide open offers an environment of learning, fun, fellowship, and most importantly the message of Jesus. This youth facility is only the beginning of things greater to come.

The Encounter Youth Center will serve as an after school program to help teens with their schooling as well as offer different services to the community. Not only will it be an after school program but also a facility where teens and college age students  can gather for recreation, and be an open door to transmit God's word and the message of salvation to the lost. We believe that with this plan we can lead many to a relationship with Christ and water baptism in Jesus name.

My wife and I have just recently visited an amazing facility in Colorado that has brought great inspiration to our youth group. Being able to physically experience a functioning youth center that shares our vision, brings much motivation and thrive for something greater. Their facility will be the model for what our youth center will become. Although our soon-to-be youth center is located in the basement of an 1800's Quaker home, it truly is a diamond in the ruff.

In order for our vision to become reality, a three phase process must take place. Phase one, we will clean, refurbish and prepare our space for remodeling. Phase two, we will build and remodel it. This includes anything from painting to stage building, and the installation of a café. Finally phase three, furnishing, decorating and adding the final touches. We will bring in computers, entertainment systems, seating arrangements, lighting and our own instruments.

You may ask yourself, "They have such a great vision, but where will the funds for the project come from?" Encounter Youth Group is working very hard to raise the funds necessary. We are praying that God will supply us with federal grants and investors that will share our vision and partner with us on this project: Encounter the DestiNY.

Remodeling will begin in early 2008. We have a great burden for the youth of this generation therefore, we understand the need for a deep relationship with our Creator. Our priority is God and our central activity is prayer and fasting. More than revival, we long for God and are desperate to see His glory. Strength and unity is coming from our prayer chains and the young people are in accelerated motion with this vision, purpose and direction. It is not a matter of revival coming or not, it is a matter of how fast we will draw revival to our city. The time is NOW.
